I approach jewelry making with the experience of a goldsmith,
the hands of a sculptor and the eyes of a painter. Each choice
is informed by my need to create beautiful objects that transcend
the realm of conventional jewelry. I enjoy creating 3-dimensional
pieces that extend out from the body like sculpture. Many pieces
contain elements of surprise through the use of hidden secrets,
moving parts, and accents of color through various patinas, pearls,
enamel and gemstones.
Using painstaking and meticulous methods I create jewelry in
response to things that inspire me. My aesthetic is heavily influenced
by natural, organic forms found in plants and flowers, the ocean
and sea life, architecture, historical jewelry, Art Nouveau and
Victorian decorative arts.
