Nearly two and a half decades have gone into collecting
both the ancient and recent folk art of the nomads, while engaging
in exchanges with Bedouin women of the Negev and the Tarabin tribe
of the Sinai Peninsula. Anne Karren Gitlis knows the origin and
history of every bead and coin. The combination of land, history,
people and her own experience lends itself to the final product.
It is therefore not surprising that a considerable number of her
necklaces and earrings have found their way into museums and homes
of private collectors |
