Chiara’s work reflects the simplicity and fineness of form inherent in classic European design. Working in 18 karat gold, sterling silver, precious and semi precious stones, her pieces are hammered and textured in simple yet striking shapes, until they have an ancient and timeless feel. She draws inspiration from her experience as a watercolor painter and from the natural world around her - the varied blues in rippling water, the perfect sheen of pomegranate seeds or the rough hewn texture of a slate floor. While never a follower of the latest trends, her pieces are intrinsically fashionable and stylish. Driven to further perfect her craft, Chiara determinedly seeks out new techniques and materials. It’s her passion, she says, ‘True lasting beauty always comes from the integrity and honesty in the initial concept, crafting and materials used.’ Born in Europe, raised in the UK and the US, Chiara settled in the Bay Area to raise her family and pursue her art of adornment. |
