I work with enamel on silver using the sifting/scraffetto technique.
Each enamel tile is a painting in its self. After firing them in
the kiln, I put the pieces into an etch bath to give them a pit-fired
primitive surface . I think of enamel as a state of mind in glass
on metal: the influence of a walk through a wooded area or industrial
ruins, a modernist painter, or Sythian artwork. The pieces should
last a life time . Remember, the surface is glass not paint, so
each bracelet and necklace should be handled with care . |
