Influenced by the strong, simple lines of modern
architecture, Jeannie Hwang's designs embody a classic elegance.
A stainless steel clasp ingeniously fastens a band of stingray
skin to form a cuff bracelet. A purist pendulum dangles through
a loop, creating an asymmetrical necklace. Imaginative exercise
in geometry combines with a subtle use of color to create clean,
urbane designs for the modern day minimalist.
Jeannie began making jewelry while living in Melbourne, Australia,
leaving behind a career in market research to pursue her true
passion. She continued her informal education in Amsterdam, learning
from books and seeking guidance from a local professor of metalsmithing.
After graduating from San Francisco's Revere Academy of Jewelry
Arts, Jennie completed a two year apprenticeship with a Master
Jeweler where she honed her skills in wax carving, model making,
casting, finishing, fabrication and bench work. She now works
from her own studio in San Francisco, California.
