Lauren Wolf discovered her interest and passion
for creating jewelry while living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Lauren found herself in Mexico after completing a degree in Advertising
at the University of Georgia. While she gained valuable information
from her degree she was determined to discover a more creative
outlet in her career. Upon arriving in Mexico she began studying
at the Sterling Quest Studio under the instruction of the respected
Billy King. Billy taught Lauren soldering and silversmithing and
it was during her time in Mexico that lauren developed her true
love for creating jewelry.
After leaving Mexico Lauren moved to
San Francisco where she studied under another instructor, Adam
Clark, at the Scintillant Studio. In San Francisco Lauren improved
her skills and devoted time to her own personal designs. It was
at this point that lauren decided to apply to the Jewelry Design
Program at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Lauren
was accepted to the program and attended FIT where she was able
to broaden and hone skills even more. Outside of her classes in
New York, Lauren has worked for Melissa Joy Manning and has apprenticed
under the designer Karen Karch for Push.
After finishing her studies
at FIT, Lauren set up her own studio space in Brooklyn where she
has been designing her own handmade line. Lauren's true inspiration
for jewelry is to create a unique design that each person can treasure
as his or her own special piece. This is one of the reasons Lauren
was inspired to create her one of a kind line. "I know what it
is like to discover a piece of jewelry that you absolutely adore
and want to wear all the time. I hope to create this feeling of
uniqueness when someone finds a piece of my jewelry." This personal
connection with jewelry was the inspiration for Lauren's one of
a kind necklaces. "I have a strong passion for travel and am always
on the lookout for interesting trinkets with which I can create
one of a kind jewelry." Lauren's travel has taken her all over
the world to places such as Istanbul, Greece, Mexico, Thailand,
Raratoonga, Australia and New Zealand just to name a few. From
the cities to the beaches, it is during these visits that Lauren
is able to explore the local communities and markets to find some
of the amazing pieces that she later transforms into her one of
a kind jewelry. |
