Born 21 April 1967
Quito - Ecuador
I have always been inclined to arts. I was involved with ceramics
before going to study metals.
In 1990 I got awarded a national scholarship given by the government
of Ecuador to study the old 'oficio' of silversmithing for 4 years,
at the Taller -Escuela 'Bernardo de Legarda' in Quito –Ecuador.
We had to learn by assisting the 'maestro' in a very traditional
way, like the old 'Escuela Espanola', where everything was made
from scratch including the tools. After 4 years I got awarded a
one year scholarship by the Italian government to study 'jewelry
design' at the 'Scuola di Disegno Gio Carbone' in Florence-Italy.
I have been a jewelry designer for over 10 years. I hold a Bachelors degree in
arts and metalsmithing as well as a certified jeweler/designer. Recieved 3 diplomas
from The Gemological Institute of America (Diamonds, Diamond Grading, and Appraisals)
