Russell O. Jones graduated from the Rhode Island
School of Design with a degree in illustration and the Metropolitan
University of Manchester in England with a masters degree
in Graphic Design. He began his professional career working
for the likes of Esquire, GQ, and the New York Times
before switching to web design.
A long-standing interest in jewelry and light metals led him
to create special one-of-a-kind pieces in his spare time to
give as gifts to family and friends, and Russell Jones
Jewelry was born. The organic yet modern collection draws
inspiration from many sources: fossils, seashells, and
beach stones Jones collected with his children, Asian
antiques, berries, and flowers, even frogs and snakes. Gem
stone beads are carefully selected to show natural gradations
of color and the pieces move gently and sensually
with the wearer’s body. Attention to detail brings a unique
personality to the work: everything is individually handmade,
even the clasps and findings. By working closely in
collaboration with suppliers in India and New York’s
Diamond District to find the best possible and most unsual
gems, Jones creates pieces that showcase the innate
qualities of each variety of stone with a subtle understated
elegance that is the hallmark of his Jewelry.
Russell currently lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and
two boys. |
